Nick Batten & Tracy Page were both classically trained; Nick at Cornwall College and Tracy in his home town of Brighton.

Once qualified Nick worked throughout the country and in the Channel Islands in hotels, restaurants, event catering and industrial catering before entering the teaching profession.

Tracy, on the otherhand, after working in a number of hotels and restaurants, decided to join the Royal Air Force. He served for fourteen years and travelled extensively. After being posted to Cornwall and building an association with Cornwall College, he too became a lecturer.

They met in 1997 at Cornwall College, soon became friends and found themselves being asked to do various catering functions. The number of functions kept growing and growing and their reputation for fine food and quality service began to spread across the county.

In February 1999 a chance meeting with a local marquee firm resulted in an offer to provide the catering for the Royal Cornwall Show in June of that year. This was a big project and Nick and Tracy decided it was time to put their function work onto a more professional basis.

So Batten & Page was founded in June 1999.

They pride themselves on personal service; from the first phone call and meeting through to the end of the function. Menus are designed to meet the specific needs of the individual customer and commodoties are always of top quality and sourced in county whenever possible.

Batten and Page thrive on diversification and are able to provide a service to a wide range of customers and establishments, however large or small.

Batten & Page has evolved slowly and steadily over the past six years and have been at the forefront of many catering projects during this exciting time of regeneration in Cornwall. They both look forward to continued growth in the business.
